Egina Gold Camp – Becher Project
The Becher Project is located in the northern sector of the Egina Gold Camp and covers a priority area of approximately 20 km2. The area is characterised by shallow cover overlaying the highly prospective and under-explored Mallina Basin. De Grey Mining’s (ASX:DEG) over 11 Moz Au (JORC 2012) Mallina Gold Project is adjacent to Becher, located only ~ 28 km WSW of De Grey’s principal Hemi deposit.
The Becher Project is comprised of three high-priority prospects, Heckmair, Irvine and Whillans, all of which will be the subject of further drilling in connection with the Egina JV.
Novo commenced AC drilling in September 2022 testing a series of interpreted structural corridors and intrusion related targets. Drilling at Becher was completed by Novo in June 2023 and in ten months, the Company drilled 2,540 holes for ~61,400 m.
In June 2023, following success with its exploration results at Becher, Novo entered into the Egina Joint Venture (Egina JV) with +A$2B Western Australian gold developer De Grey for the advancement of exploration at Becher and surrounding tenements. Under the Egina JV, De Grey may spend up to A$25 million within four years to earn a 50% direct stake in the relevant tenements, at which time the 50/50 Egina JV will be established.
Through the Egina JV, De Grey will manage all further exploration programs at Becher.
De Grey commenced AC drilling at Becher in October 2023 as part of their planned 39,000 m program of AC, RC and diamond drilling.
